Civic Reception - City Chambers

A Civic Reception hosted by the City of Glasgow will take place at 19.00 hours on Wednesday 27th August 2008 at the City Chambers (pictured right), located in the very heart of Glasgow. A grand and imposing building overlooking George Square, the City Chambers is an impressive symbol of Glasgow’s political strength and historical wealth. Completed in 1888, the City Chambers has for over a hundred years been the headquarters of successive councils serving the City of Glasgow. Tickets are complimentary, however, delegates should indicate their interest in the event on their registration form to reserve a ticket.

Symposium Gala Dinner

The Symposium Gala Dinner will be held at the Glasgow Science Centre (pictured left) on Friday 29th August 2008. Glasgow Science Centre is one of Scotland’s must-see visitor attractions. The Centre contains hundreds of interactive exhibits, the ScottishPower Planetarium, Scotland’s only IMAX cinema, Science Show Theatre, Climate Change Theatre and the 127m Glasgow Tower. The dinner is generously subsidised by the organising committee and tickets can be purchased by completing the relevant section on the registration form for a nominal fee of £20.00. Cancellation policy: Cancellations received in writing will only be refunded if received on or before 15th August 2008.

New Investigators' Social Event - Thistle Hotel

An informal social event and drinks reception will be held at the Thistle Glasgow on Thursday 28th August 2008 at 19.00 hours for ‘New Investigators’. This event will incorporate the poster presentations and will provide an opportunity for new investigators to discuss their work with more experienced colleagues. Tickets are complimentary for all delegates. However, delegates should indicate their interest in the event on their registration form to reserve a ticket.
